Given the work I’ve been doing these thirty years of teaching and practicing yoga and Asian medicine, I’ve witnessed that mindful movement can be an effective catalyst for change and a path to our personal enlightenment. It is as powerful a medicine as any other I’ve studied, practiced or taught.
My goal in writing this book is to help you build self-awareness through simple yet powerful mental and movement practices. I'm also introducing you to therapeutic exercises from Chinese medicine called Dao Yin, as they were taught to me by my teacher Jeffrey Yuen.
Beyond being a life saver for me, mindful movement has been a sacred path of conscious awareness. It has helped me to meet and be the person I feel I was always meant to be. I’ve come to understand how our physical and mental movements are inextricably linked. I want to offer this wisdom to you, trusting as you practice mindful movement, something profound will awaken within you that will help you create a life full of meaning and purpose. Along this path of self exploration through movement, you will experience a deeply fulfilling pleasure and freedom.
